Job descriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic chemical, environmental or bioprocess engineering scientist with an affinity for analytical chemistry, electrochemical conversions and microbiological conversions. You will study the detection, removal and degradation of organosulfur compounds that are present in industrial waste streams. You will combine electrochemical characterization methods, (bio)electrochemical reactor build-up and operation and co-development of analytical detection methods to design and demonstrate a strategy for removal and degradation of organosulfur compounds. You will implement your excellent reactor operation and creative research skills to develop a treatment technology for organosulfur compounds.The position is embedded in the chair group of of Wageningen University, where (bio)electrochemical and adsorption reactor expertise and materials and analytical facilities are available. As part of this chair group, you will also be involved in support of teaching activities and training of MSc and BSc students. You will be co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Annemiek ter Heijne, Dr. Sanne de Smit with secondary supervision by Dr. Albert Guisasola from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain).About the project:

This is based on a full-time working week of 38 hours.
