As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will have a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the learning, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of our pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.Key responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one support
• Support classroom activities under the teacher’s guidance.
• Assist students with learning tasks and ensure comprehension.
• Foster positive relationships and encourage student wellbeing.
• Implement behaviour management strategies.
• Maintain a tidy and organised classroom environment.
• Provide individualised support to students with specific needs.
• Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents.

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and adaptable individual with the following qualities:

• A deep comprehension of the diverse needs associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.
• An ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of individual students, particularly those facing mental health challenges.
• A patient and understanding approach, when facing challenging behaviour.
• A proactive and open mindset, working in a multidisciplinary team.
