University of CopenhagenThe University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Psychiatric Bioinformatics to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a position as senior researcher at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, Copenhagen University Hospital – the Mental Health Services in Capital Region of Denmark (Institute of Biological Psychiatry).It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Psychiatric bioinformatics and neuroscience broadly.The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:

• Research, including publication/academic dissemination – The professorship entails research within the field of Psychiatric bioinformatics, which seeks to map and understand molecular and cellular biological processes that underlie mental illness, and ultimately aims to inform prevention, diagnostics and treatment of mental disorders
• Research-based teaching, including associated examination and teaching at the School of Medicine, Master in Neuroscience and Master in Personal Medicine
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers and medical students and head the research group within psychiatric bioinformatics
• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
• Academic assessments

Required qualifications
To be qualified for a clinical professor position, you will be assessed according to these six overall criteria for recognising merit at the University of Copenhagen: Research, teaching, societal impact, organisational contribution, external funding, and leadership. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of five years.
