When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to demonstrate a high level of original scientific work at an international standard in Regulatory Science or related areas, combined with practical experience in drug or drug-device regulatory systems gained either from the pharmaceutical industry or from regulatory bodies.CORS2 seeks to improve the drug regulatory system and thereby contribute to public health and sustainable drug innovation through research and education in regulatory science and real-world evidence. CORS2’s research focuses on evaluating how the regulatory system functions, including how regulations and regulatory instruments collectively shape the system, and how the system interacts with and forms relationships with its environment, such as pharmaceutical development and clinical practice. The center emphasizes the need for a scientifically robust regulatory framework that effectively governs both established pharmaceutical products and emerging innovative therapies, such as advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). The use of real-world data and real-world evidence in regulatory decision-making is also a key area of interest, informing the evolution of regulatory policies and guidelines.The professor is expected to actively contribute to the further development of CORS2. This includes building a strong scientific environment within the University of Copenhagen, fostering international collaborations with other universities dedicated to the field, and engaging with drug regulatory authorities as well as relevant organizations and companies.Furthermore, the professor will be part of a team addressing the growing educational needs within Regulatory Science.The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
