We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Assistant professor in Veterinary Anaesthesiology from 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is fixed term for 4 years.About the DepartmentThe Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences covers strong and internationally recognized research areas in clinical veterinary sciences. Based on these, we want to set a new standard for cross-disciplinary research, education and innovation within animal health and disease and be among the best public workplaces in Denmark. The veterinary anaesthesiology research unit is focused on optimizing anaesthetic protocols, advancing pain management strategies, and ensuring perioperative patient safety. Our group is part of the Section for Clinical Practice and Diagnostics in Companion Animals and the section includes faculty, diplomates, residents, and senior clinicians. Our anaesthesia service provides a strong platform for research and clinical teaching in veterinary anaesthesiology. The service works closely with all the University Hospital for Companion Animals’ services, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.Your Job
You will support research, teaching, and clinical service development in veterinary anaesthesiology.You will be part of the anesthesiology teams at the University Hospitals for Companion Animals ( ) and Large Animals respectively ( ), with approximately 25% of your time dedicated to teaching and clinical service in Large Animal anaesthesia (mainly equine).Your tasks will include:

We are looking for a PHD and/or board certified diplomate in veterinary anestesiology with a growing anestesiology research profile and the desire to build, improve and expand on this research profile.Six overall criteria apply for assistant professor appointments at the University of Copenhagen.
