Wrexham Glyndwr University is looking to recruit a Graduation and Internal Communications Assistant to join its busy marketing and communications team.
This is a key role supporting the Graduation and Internal Communications Officer keeping students and staff informed and engaged with university life.
As a Graduation and Internal Communications Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting with graduation and internal communications’ tasks as needed by the Graduation and Internal Communications Officer, the creation and delivery of student communications across the university, as well as working closely with the Student Administration team, faculties and the Students’ Union.
You will develop and deliver a robust student communications plan, using appropriate channels (including intranet, website, social media and emails) and be responsible for top level staff and student communications through platforms such as the weekly Campus Talk email.
The post holder will be expected to have a proactive, user-focused approach to ensuring that students and staff are well informed about the plans for annual events, including graduation, developments around the Glyndwr campuses, relevant changes and developments with services and departments, student and staff successes as well as how relevant national and regional developments will affect them.
The post-holder will be expected to manage their own time and carry out a wide range of tasks to support for the delivery of the annual graduation ceremonies and full cycle of internal communications, such as collating information, creating and maintaining a communications plan, preparing communications such as emails and newsletters, setting up and operating social media accounts aimed at current students and liaising with other departments across the University to ensure consistency across student communications.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
