• Staffing Model: 2 Pediatric Intensivists to evenly share call coverage
• Schedule: flexible call schedule to accommodate family and personal needs
• In-house during the day
• Call from home at night
• Teaching: a family practice residency program, with active resident participation in rounds
• Coverage includes PICU/General Pediatrics, along with Consults from ER
• 8-beds with 2 observation beds
• 2024 Peds/PICU Admission/Census Data (YTD through October 2024)
• 485 Admissions
• 392 Pediatric Admits; 93 PICU Admits
• ADC: 5.1

Facility Information

Grand Strand Medical Center is a 269-bed acute care hospital serving residents and visitors of Horry and surrounding counties. Our hospital offers the only cardiac surgery program in Horry and Georgetown counties and is a designated Level II trauma center by DHEC and the American College of Surgeons. The hospital’s heart surgery program consistently ranks top in the state, as well as the nation. In 2012, the hospital performed 457 cardiac surgeries, delivered 914 babies and treated over 79,000 emergency department patients. Our hospital, located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, has more than 270 physicians, over 1,400 staff members and over 170 hospital volunteers to serve you.
