Your application must include a recommendation letter from your Ph.D. supervisor, a detailed CV including university education and work experience, a list of publications, a 2-page description of the work undertaken during the course of your PhD.For more Information, contact : Directeur de RechercheSubmit the complete application online (Apply) before March 14th, 2025 Midnight Paris timeThis postdoctoral research project aims to pioneer efficient approaches for integrating Earth Observation (EO) Data streams for Earth digital twins, and associated novel visualization techniques.Local and specialized Earth digital twins, including an interactive or even immersive experience, seek to enhance user understanding, engagement, and decision-making capabilities in a variety of thematic domains.Real-time update of local representation of the Earth based on EO-Data streams is a challenge in terms of implementation and Human-Computer interaction. Geospatial data streams, resulting from the fusion of heterogeneous available observations, feature large data volumes and multi-scale issues, especially for applications that require near-real-time processing or visualization.This postdoc could focus on a more efficient approach involving accessing EO data directly from data streams in memory, thus bypassing the need for intermediate storage, enabling real-time processing and visualization even for remote EO collections. A second step is to incorporate data pre-processing (alignment, filtering, rescaling, etc..), leveraging technologies such as Web Assembly in order to access to near native performance, portability and easy integration. A third axis could be to leverage recent 3D rendering and physics engines in order to efficiently render observations (data streams) combined to simulations of scenarios of interest to the user.
