Their franchised schools offer full Canadian bilingual teaching methodologies & strategies utilizing a mix of Canadian and local curricula.Globally, the network currently has more than 400 operational Early Childhood, Elementary and High Schools and approaching two hundred schools in implementation. for a total of 60.000+ students across 39 countries.Across the CEE region, our Client franchises some 15 schools, with another 20 coming on stream in the next two years. Three schools are open in Poland.The position will be employed by one franchised school and is based in Katowice.Academic Co-ordinator / Vice Principal – Koordynator ds. akademickich / Zastępca dyrektoraWorkplace: Katowice (śląskie)Reference number: A/jobs.plJob ResponsibilitiesThe coordinator will be the curriculum leader in the school supporting teachers and staff in providing high quality education based on Canadian philosophy and best practices in a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment.

  • Implements policies, programs and curriculum activities that promote the educational development of students and the professional development of staff
  • Assures organizational efficiency by planning for communication, scheduling and effective running of the school programs
  • Assists the school Principal in implementing the Polish core curriculum. Having a good understanding across this core curriculum is important, not just the English subject.
  • Monitors the compliance of educational programs with Polish educational requirements
  • Supports teachers with lesson planning, curriculum implementation, resources, teaching methodologies, assessment of students, behaviour management
  • Works collaboratively with teachers on an individual and group basis to share and discuss teaching strategies
  • Plans and facilitates on-going communication with parents and the community
  • Works in partnership with master franchisee Global and Regional teams to create and enhance local curriculum and documents
  • Supports the school Principal in the daily management of the private educational institution.
  • Helps in planning and organizing administrative and educational activities.
  • Assists the principal in communication with educational oversight bodies and other external institutions.

Skills & Experience sought

  • University degree in education – a degree in pedagogy (Master’s degree) with a specialization in preschool/early childhood education.
  • Excellent English language skills – C1 level minimum.
  • Previous experience in an educational leadership role, ideally familiar with Canadian curricula or similar.
  • Passion for education and implementing new pedagogy.
  • Loves to work with children and collaborate with teaching colleagues.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, leadership, management and organizational skills. Management skills within a school environment are a definite advantage.
  • Someone who has experience with children, ideally in primary school (kindergarten not necessarily

  • Be pro-active is resolving conflicts and disputes if and when they arise.
  • Previous experience working in an international and/or bilingual school is an asset.

  • Is fluency in Polish necessary – it is not necessary, but it is useful.
  • Preferred start date is as soon as possible
  • Reporting lines – Does the position report directly to the school Principal? Yes, and the position reports to Academic Director for CEE region as well.
  • Location – there is no scope for hybrid working. Position needs to be based in Katowice as it is in-office work, so needs to be based in Katowice or in close area.
  • Level of experience – As some educational leadership experience is necessary , then it is likely that strong candidates will be ~30-40? Our Clients seek someone with good energy, who will not have a problem to spend the time with young children if necessary, eg. substitute teaching for another teacher during classes possibly. This person has to know educational methodologies to inspire teachers and effectively be their pro-active support.
  • How many teachers and pupils will there most likely be at Katowice school at the start of (next) 2025 year? Techers: around 20-25 (half working full time, half part time), pupils around 70-80. The school capacity is 320 children within next 5 years. This means 50 teachers eventually. This position in Poland would also mean that such a person would assume a vice-principal position.
  • Salary – the budget is around 12-14k PLN gross/month. Annual bonus up to 30% based on annual performance review each March – bonus paid in April. Base salary review is every March based on one criteria: number of students enrolled. Target salary for this position is €55k pa when the school operates on 80% of capacity. In Katowice this means growing from current (60-70) to 300 students within the next 5 years.
  • Other benefits: Medical Insurance (basic level in LuxMed), considerable training of the Canadian curricula, financial support for studies, other training and personal development (around €2-5,000 per year) and participation in Global conferences organised by the master franchisor.
  • Annual holidays – 26 days per year.
