Overview of the Role

Are you committed to supporting the clinical academic training programme at Leeds? Can you play a central role in strategic and operational decisions to support access to clinical academic training at the early career stages whilst ensuring equity, diversity and inclusion?

Leeds has a vibrant academic clinical research community involving University of Leeds, partner NHS Trusts and NHS England Yorkshire and Humber. Applications are invited for an established consultant clinical academic to join the programme to strengthen links between the School of Medicine undergraduate research INSPIRE programme, the West Yorkshire Specialised Foundation Programme (SFP) and the postgraduate Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme at Leeds to promote clinical academic careers in the region.

This role is open to members of the University’s clinical academic staff at Associate Professor and Professor level (with honorary consultant status) and NHS consultant staff holding honorary titles within the School of Medicine who have an academic component to their job plan.

Available from 1 October 2023 for 3 years in the first instance, this role is externally funded and requires a time commitment of 0.5 PA (Programmed Activity) and it is anticipated that appropriate time to undertake the role will be agreed through the joint University and NHS job planning process. We welcome applications from consultant academic staff who will have completed CCT by 1  October 2023.
