Accountability Partner & Accountability Associate

vacanciesin.eu

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute positively to the development and delivery of a strategic Programme within the University of Bristol. In November 2023 the University announced its commitment to investing £10m over 10 years via Reparative Futures, to tackle racial injustice and inequalities. This Programme is in its mobilisation phase providing a unique opportunity to be involved in developing the foundations.

To make the University accountable and gain insights we have created two types of Accountability roles to enable us to co-create the programme with our local communities. We have five Accountability Partner roles which will be a core part of the programme, and up to 20 Accountability Associate roles, people with specific expertise who can be called upon to share their knowledge.

Both roles will work with the core team. You will share your expertise and lived experiences to help shape and inform the University’s direction and decision making processes.

Accountability Partners will be participating in formal meetings and therefore you need to be confident in contributing within these settings.

  • You have expertise and relevant lived experience within one or more of the following areas: education, co-creation & partnerships, civic engagement at both a global and glocal level, community engagement, community partnership, mental health & wellbeing challenges, creative expression, reparative justice, and developing historical narrative and memorialisation.
  • You are enthusiastic about improving the outcomes for people from Black, African and Caribbean diasporas, via our Reparative Future Programme and will be committed to helping us achieve success.
  • You have proven skills in influencing networks, in listening to the views of others and communicating your expertise in a diplomatic way.

For further information, please refer to the candidate brochure attached below.

  • Accountability Partners will need to be able to commit an average of 8 hours per month, mostly in half day (4 hour) sessions, and expected to attend and contribute to formal meetings.
  • Accountability Associates will be called upon to share their specific expertise and relevant lived experience according to the particular demands of the programme focus. Notice will be given for each opportunity with work expected in half day (4 hour blocks). There is no minimum guarantee of work within this role.

To apply for either role please email [email protected] including the title of the role in the subject line, with the following:

1. A covering letter or personal statement (maximum 2 sides) explaining why this role is important to you and what you are able to bring to this programme, and

2. a copy of your CV or equivalent biographical information showing relevant experience.

Please note this advert will close at 23.59pm on Sunday 7th April.

We are keen to involve a range of perspectives in this programme.  We particularly encourage applications from the Black, African and Caribbean Diaspora, and people aged from 18-30.

We recently launched our strategy  to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.
