Accountant (Junior)Zurich North America TeamPlace of work: CracowJob purpose:To perform specific Financial Accounting and Reporting activities compliant with IFRS, regulatory and statutory requirements. The role gives opportunity to participate in local, regional and global projects and that is why we are looking for a proactive, flexible person with a “can do” approach.Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and perform general ledger bookings and account reconciliation (e.g. calculate deferred income tax, accruals, provisions, pre-payments)
  • Provide Group and external reporting (BS, P&L, Supplementary information to financial statement) – according to IFRS and other GAAP if needed (e.g. US GAAP, Swiss GAAP)
  • Perform Intercompany reconciliation and postings
  • Perform various closing activities e.g. maintain interfaces to Sub ledger as an option, posting Statutory Adjusting Entries, performing Statutory Analysis and filings
  • Support/collaborate in various projects such as the analysis and implementation of Group Chart of Accounts changes
  • Maintain contact with various stakeholders e.g. FAR Controllers, Actuaries, Local Accountants,
  • Execute controls within ICFR framework

Candidate’s profile:

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Practical accounting experience in GL / financial audit or financial reporting
  • Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree
  • Good knowledge of Excel and financial system (SAP as preferred)
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • English skills – spoken and written at fluent level

Additional requirements:

  • This position will be dedicated for the US (American) customer, which will require occasionally adapting to work according to the US hours as per the team’s shift schedule.
