We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our Netherlands Accounting Team. The internship will focus on providing a valuable learning experience while supporting the team in various initiatives. As the NL Accounting Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the accounting processes in SNV and you will be part of the NL accounting team (approx. 4-5 FTEs), finance department, located in The Hague, the Netherlands.The NL Accounting Team is mostly responsible for:Financial administration of global teams and of projects lead from the Netherlands (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets and cash)Recording the salary related transactions of NL staff as well as international staff.Auditing expense reportsRecording other billable costs to projectsMonth, Extensive and Year-end closure processesTransferring the liquidity funds to SNV countriesCarrying out payments on behalf of SNV countriesIntercompany invoicing and reconciliation with SNV countriesVAT return on quarterly basisReporting to the donors as per the contracted deadlinesCoordinating the projects audit (where applicable).This internship offers a unique chance to:Gain experience in the development sector by working on real-world tasks and projects.Receive mentorship from experienced professionals in a dynamic team environment.Develop skills in accounting, communication, and international collaboration.Contribute to impactful work that makes a difference.Your tasks will be tailored to align with your learning goals, providing a meaningful experience. We will offer guidance and support to help you reach your objectives.Tasks and activities may include:Support in the completeness of Sap Business by Design/operational work instructions for all our accounting processes.Support in clearing specific balance sheet items.Support in filing systemSupport in accounting processes (e.g. daily tasks and tasks during Month and Year end closing) and contribute to their improvement.QualificationsTo qualify for this internship, we ask for the following requirements:Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited EU university (for the duration of the internship) with a focus on Accounting, or Finance and you can provide a certificate of enrolment.Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. French is an added advantage.A desire to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.Pro-active, pragmatic and solution driven.A curious, self-motivated individual that works well in a team.You must have the legal right to reside in the Netherlands for the internship period (SNV does not sponsor visas or permits for interns).Additional InformationWorking for SNV

SNV offers a hands-on and dynamic internship experience with an enthusiastic team at our office in The Hague. To ensure an optimal learning experience, we request you to work from the office in The Hague 50% of the time.
