About the Role

Key Responsibilities
In this diverse and rewarding position, you’ll:

* Carry out noise and vibration assessments for projects ranging from residential developments to transportation infrastructure and industrial facilities.
* Investigate noise nuisance complaints and act as an expert witness in Planning Inquiries and Court Hearings.
* Utilize advanced tools such as state-of-the-art noise measurement equipment and industry-leading CadnaA modeling software.
* Prepare high-quality technical reports that deliver actionable, client-focused recommendations.
* Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project success.
* Contribute to research and innovation, developing new noise reduction and mitigation techniques.

What We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate will:

* Hold a relevant first degree or post-graduate qualification in Acoustics, Noise & Vibration, or a related discipline.
* Be a Corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA).
* Have a minimum of three years’ experience in acoustic consultancy and a strong technical understanding of the field.
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in preparing technical reports.
* Hold a full UK driving license and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

* Conducting noise testing at a potential housing development one day, and modeling the noise impact of a large infrastructure project the next.
* Preparing evidence for high-profile Planning Inquiries or court hearings.
* Engaging in cutting-edge research on topics like noise reduction strategies for multi-use games areas (MUGAs).
* Working on high-impact national frameworks, such as projects for the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (Defra).
