The successful candidate will combine expertise in Applied Mathematics, Meteorology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), to develop the next generation numerical weather prediction models of extreme weather forecasts and their impacts.The UCD College of Science, to which the School of Mathematics and Statistics belongs, is undergoing an exciting transformation under the guiding principle of `data in science, science in data’. This position is aligned directly with the Driving Sustainability and AI and Digital Technologies threads that permeate the UCD 2030 Breaking Boundaries strategy.The successful candidate will be expected to develop and sustain a leading research programme at the interface of Applied Mathematics, Meteorology and Artificial Intelligence, including publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals, the supervision of research students and the development and submission of competitive applications for external funding. The candidate will be expected to develop a research programme which augments and broadens the current areas of research in the School. The successful candidate will also be expected to be committed to pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching for the School’s wide-ranging programmes, and to contribute to the development and delivery of new programmes.95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar (7943) Salary Scale: €62,855 – €99,533 Per Annum
