A strong track record in one health initiatives, and ⁠interdisciplinary collaboration is important for this role. Candidates need to demonstrate a clear ability to work across disciplines, engaging with healthcare professionals, engineers, data scientists and other key stakeholders.Their proficiency in digital health practices and research methods in the School will serve to advance cutting edge research that will break the boundaries of our knowledge in the field of digital health and healthcare informatics. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a distinct research cluster in the School focused on digital health and healthcare informatics.1.⁠ ⁠Research and Scholarship:

  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in digital health, focusing on areas such as telehealth, mobile health applications, data management, and the impact of technology on patient care and staff outcomes.
  • Conduct healthcare data analysis to inform decision-making and improve care quality and patient outcome measures.
  • Seek external funding through grants and partnerships to support research initiatives and contribute to the growth of the department’s research portfolio.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and expand national and international networks in digital and health informatics to address complex health issues and develop evidence-based practices in digital health.

2.⁠ ⁠Teaching and Curriculum Development:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate courses in nursing and midwifery with a focus on digital health technologies, telemedicine, health informatics, and data analytics.
  • Integrate innovative teaching methods, including simulation, online learning, and experiential learning opportunities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • support upskilling and knowledge enhancement among faculty and students in digital health and technology development and testing
  • Mentor and advise nursing and midwifery students, guiding their professional development and research projects in digital health.
  • Ensure compliance with health informatics standards and regulations, including GDPR.
  • Promote collaboration between human, animal, and environmental health sectors in alignment with the One Health principles.

3.⁠ ⁠Service and Community Engagement:

  • Participate in School, college, and university committees, contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the nursing and midwifery programmes.
  • Engage with professional organizations, community stakeholders, and healthcare institutions to promote the integration of digital health in healthcare practice.
  • Represent the School at national and global conferences, workshops, and public forums to share expertise in digital health and its implications for nursing midwifery and health systems.
