# – Operations Administration Officer

Contract – Temporary (3 months)
Pay Rate – £15.26 per hour
Hours – Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm)
Start Date – Immediate

Pertemps Recruitment, in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, is offering an excellent opportunity to join their Street Scene, Recycling & Waste department as an Operations Administration Officer. This is a great chance to contribute to a vital public service while developing your skills in administration and waste management

You’ll play a key role in providing day to day admin support to the Operational Management Teams, designing and implementing administrative and monitoring procedures to ensure best practice and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety legislation, as well as processing financial transactions and basic procurement.

What you’ll be doing:
As an Operations Administration Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day running of our Operational teams by:

– Managing admin tasks for frontline staff, including overtime and sickness processing
– Liaising with third-party suppliers to request quotes and book work
– Monitoring internal systems (e.g. FixMyStreet, Abavus, Bartec, SAP, SharePoint, Booking Live)
– Responding to emails from the public, internal departments, and town/parish councils
– Investigating customer complaints and handling Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
– Maintaining PPE stock levels in line with procedures
– Keeping accurate financial records, raising purchase orders, and ensuring timely invoice payments
– Tracking operational data to support compliance with O-License and environmental permits

 
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone with strong admin experience, ideally in waste management or finance—especially within a local authority. You should have:

– Previous experience in administration
– Confidence handling customer complaints, Freedom of Information requests, and general enquiries
– Good numerical accuracy (e.g. processing driver hours, weight tickets, invoicing)
– Experience in a finance or waste management setting is an advantage
