The Board of Governors is seeking two Non-Governor, Co-opted Members of its Finance, Infrastructure and Investment Committee. It is intended that the appointees will take up their roles from the start of the 2023/24 cycle of business in Autumn 2023, formally serving a four year term until 31 July 2027.
The Finance, Infrastructure, and Investment Committee provides the Board with assurance on the development and delivery of key elements of the University Strategy. It oversees the development and implementation of the financial, estates and digital infrastructure objectives of the University Strategy including financial sustainability, performance, and compliance. Its aim is to ensure that the University is operating in line with its annual business plan objectives and where not, satisfy itself that appropriate action is being taken by the Senior Leadership Team.
The committee normally meets four times each financial year, but occasionally additional engagement may be sought as the co-opted members may be well placed to advise and assist the University in realising the ambition as set out in its Strategic Plan 2022-27: Transforming Lives and Communities .
We are looking at candidates with senior-level expertise in either:
- financial management and accountancy, or;
- large infrastructure projects.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a real interest in and enthusiasm for the development of Lincoln as a leading 21st Century University, and commitment to its staff, its students and its institutional reputation.
The Role Descriptor and the Terms of Reference for the Finance, Infrastructure and Investment Committee are accessible below.
If you would like to apply for one of the Non-Governor, Co-opted Member roles, please submit your CV and covering statement setting out, with reference to the role descriptor and Terms of Reference, how your own skills, experience and personal qualities relate to what the University is seeking, to [email protected] . The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 18 June 2023.
The Co-opted Members will be appointed following an interview and confirmation process, to take place in July 2023.
This is a voluntary unpaid role. All reasonable travel and subsistence expenses incurred on University business will be reimbursed.
If you have any questions about the role, please contact Aaron Smith, Officer to the Board of Governors, via [email protected] in the first instance.
