Excellent opportunity to join a leading specialist contractor working with their commercial team and play a key role in driving project profitability through refurbishment works. We’re looking for a commercially minded individual to analyse costs versus income, prepare valuations and payment applications, manage variations, and optimise contract terms to protect margin, cash flow, and risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Estimator with a construction background who’s confident working with numbers, navigating sites, and engaging with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
* Support senior estimators with quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
* Maintain estimating databases, cost records, and project files.
* Attend site visits (as required) to collect relevant data.
* Learn company estimating software, systems, and methods.

Essential:

* Genuine interest in construction, quantity surveying, or estimating.
* Strong numerical and analytical ability.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

Requirements:

* HND/HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction/Commercial Management (or near completion).
* 1-2+ years’ experience in a Estimating/QS/Assistant QS role within construction
* CSCS card.(Desirable)
* Full UK driving licence
