The role of Assistant Finance Manager provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work in a student facing environment. Providing high quality transactional, operational and financial administration support integral to the smooth delivery of services to Durham Student Organisation (DSO) Common Rooms and Clubs and Societies, alongside fulfilling essential administrative functions across the Directorate. Reporting to the Finance Manager (SED) and working closely with two Finance Administrators on transactional processing of all financial activities in order to provide a high-quality finance service to the DSO/SED. They will engage with colleagues in other relevant sections, particularly University Finance Office as well as colleagues in the Colleges, Payroll, Procurement and Legal teams to ensure that staff and students receive the necessary advice and guidance to ensure compliance with University and DSO Framework financial regulatory, policy and contractual obligations.

The role is currently hybrid working, but the post holder will be expected to be on site at least 3 days per week.
