Assistant Professor in Health Policy and Public Health

This is a Five-Year Fixed Term, Tenure Track, full-time post as Assistant Professor in Health Policy and Public Health. The successful applicant will contribute to research, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care (PHPC). They will be the Course Director of the MSc in Health Policy and Management; an interdisciplinary postgraduate one-year (full time) and two year (part-time) taught programme housed within the Centre for Health Policy and Management (CHPM). The post holder will guide the development and growth of the MSc in Health Policy and Management in partnership with other taught programmes in the Discipline including new material on public health, health systems and policy in Year 1 of the School of Medicine curriculum. The successful candidate will be an excellent academic from any field of health policy, public health, health economics, health management or related social science discipline. They will have a strong record in post-graduate teaching, including postgraduate supervision and a good track record in research, including high quality publications. They will also have experience of translating high quality research into policy at the national level. Further they will have a proven ability for effective and strategic leadership in the Centre, Discipline and School. The Centre for Health Policy and Management seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Health Policy and Public Health. The successful candidate will contribute to research, postgraduate and undergraduate teaching in the Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care, lead the MSc in Health Policy and Management, develop spin-off courses at post-graduate level and other courses accessible to health professionals e.g. CPD and micro credentials and have an active research portfolio.
