Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range £46,735 to £55,755 with potential progression once in post to £62,728Role SummaryAs an Assistant Professor in Marketing (Education focused), you will make a substantial contribution to the delivery of high-quality student experience and ideally have experience of teaching at different levels and contexts. You will be able to demonstrate an appetite for best practice in Marketing pedagogy and engagement with scholarship.Through excellent teaching you will inspire students and be informed by discipline-based research and the management, development and delivery of teaching and assessment, whilst enhancing the student experience and employability. You will contribute to a range of education-related activities. Teaching is likely to include a substantial contribution to: (a) the management, development and delivery of teaching and assessment at all levels; and (b) enhancement of the student experience and employability. The role will typically also involve developing and advising others, including: (a) providing expert advice to staff and students, and (b) developing and advising others on learning and teaching tasks and methods. You will be expected to advance teaching and learning practice in your modules within the department, take a role in leading curriculum development and play an important role in student academic and pastoral support.We are specifically interested in people who can lead the development and delivery of teaching on our UG and MSc portfolios and are open to candidates with expertise in a range of teaching (and/or research) related areas at the cutting edge of the Marketing discipline.You will supervise UG and MSc dissertations. Management and administration opportunities are likely to include developing and making substantial contributions to knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, public engagement widening participation, schools outreach, or similar activities at Department/School level or further within the University.In addition, you will be expected to demonstrate academic citizenship, developing and maintaining mutually respectful and supportive working relationships with all staff and students, and ensuring the way you carry out your role impacts positively on how others carry out theirs. You will contribute to a range of research, teaching and administration.   • Normally, a higher degree (usually PhD) relevant to Marketing or Consumer Research
  • High quality teaching experience and scholarship within subject specialism
  • Proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning and research
  • Skills in managing, motivating and mentoring others successfully at all levels
