Assistant Professor of Latin Language and Literature

Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Latin language and literature.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher of Latin language and literature capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.

Teaching commitment: teaching in Bachelor degrees, Master degrees, Ph.D. (maximum of 90 hours); educational activities, both integrative and students tutoring.

The researcher will conduct these courses:

• Latin laboratory;
• Advanced Latin laboratory;
• Latin language and literature.

Research commitment: While maintaining as a reference the wide range of studies of Latin language and literature, the researcher will be required in particular to do research in the area of Latin grammar, lexicography and linguistics (both synchronic and diachronic); together with a commitment to teaching Latin.

The position will be hosted at the Department of Humanities , a centre for the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to history, literature, classics, archaeology, art and anthropology. In the Department of Humanities, Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows and ERC awardees work together with the permanent faculty, creating a vibrant academic environment.
