We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation that puts people first. We support coastal
fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries and restore ocean life. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing
globally. Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community
organisations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at
the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share
tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe. Blue Ventures is growing rapidly, and we are at an inflection point in our journey, having
secured multi-year support for expansion in new geographies.

Summary Job Description

We are currently recruiting an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to
provide proactive administrative support. The primary responsibility is to support the COO and
the Governance roles in setting up and running the key central processes.

The role will also support pulling together central reports for the key meetings and support
for tracking key performance reporting and targets. There will also be administrative tasks
including diary management for the COO.

The role requires independent judgement to help plan, prioritise, and organise a diverse
workload; manage available resources; and carry out a mix of routine and complex tasks. The
successful candidate will handle confidential information and must be extremely professional,
trustworthy, organised, and diplomatic, as well as an excellent communicator.

This position requires a self-motivated individual with a positive outlook and
solution-oriented focus who is happy to interact with a diverse range of individuals both
inside and outside of Blue Ventures and excel at working collaboratively across all departments
within our organisation including BV’s Senior Leadership Team.

While the EA will support the COO, the position may report to the Governance and Compliance
Manager for work supervision, line management and pastoral care. The role will also provide a
small amount of support to the CEO for processing expenses and making travel arrangements.
