Associate Category Lead Logistics EMEA

Primary Purpose of the Position:

Executes global category strategy at the commodity level. Leads the bid process – RFI release, RFP development, etc. – to make sound commodity-level sourcing decisions. Serves as first point of contact for suppliers related to commodities in scope.

Leverages market data through should-cost models and other forms of financial or negotiation strategies. Supports the Commercial Council through effective two-way communication process to drive continuous improvement and positive stakeholder relationships.

Serves as first point of contact for suppliers related to category of spend. Supports Category Leads with strategic supplier relationships through data-driven recommendations. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Category Strategy: Partners with Category leadership to execute strategy at the commodity level. Leads the bid process – RFI release, RFP development, etc. Supports negotiation process by providing necessary analytics.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Serves as first point of contact for suppliers related to category of spend. Supports Category Leads with strategic supplier relationships through data-driven recommendations.
• Organizational & Operational Excellence: Leverages market data through should-cost models and other forms of financial or negotiation strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration/Stakeholder Management: Develops and maintains appropriate two-way communication channel between Procurement and the Commercial Council to ensure exchange of feedback in order to drive continuous improvement.
• Building Organizational Capability: Accountable for meeting aspirational training goals for 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process and Enhanced Sourcing Tools. Collaborates with peers and leaders within the Category Team dispersed globally.

To join our team, you will need:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in a corporate setting required. Prior experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related Operational function preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge required: Fundamental knowledge of business processes.
• Skills required: Organization skills, strong Microsoft Access/Excel skills and/or other database programs, a team player, strong communication skills, influence skills, self-directing, and ability to work in a very fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Skills desired: Strong financial/statistical analysis.

Languages:

• Fluency in English. Knowledge of French and/or German will be considered as an asset.
