Our products and production methods are characterized by high refinement, quality and innovation, and our customers are leading international companies.About the roleAs Associate Engineering & Capex Director, your primary focus will be to provide strong, supportive leadership for our capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects. You’ll guide a skilled team of seven senior project managers as they oversee the delivery of important strategic projects across five AFI sites. These initiatives are mainly technical – for example, expanding production capacity or enhancing our facilities so we can introduce new products.You’ll have the opportunity to lead cross-functional projects that help create real value for AFI. With responsibility for project scope, costs, and timelines, you’ll empower your team, steering group, and stakeholders to ensure projects are planned and executed professionally and efficiently. You’ll also be involved in the early phases of potential business opportunities, where your technical expertise will help shape and support the business case. By bringing a positive and proactive approach, you will play an important part in supporting our growth strategy.Specifically, your responsibilities will be:

• Oversee project funding and budget tracking (over €125M annually).
• Provide strategic leadership for HQ Engineering & Capex and oversee engineering teams across five sites.
• Lead complex capex projects for internal and joint venture partners, including cross-functional initiatives.
• Drive AFI Engineering standards and project compliance across AFI.
• Ensure accurate CAPEX, OPEX, and mass balance inputs for business cases.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans, covering scope, timeline, cost, and risk.
• Collaborate with Procurement on project strategies, tenders, and contract management.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive continuous improvement, risk management, and asset protection across all sites.

Who are youWe are looking for an Associate Director with experience from large-scale complex capex projects. You come with relevant technical education – for instance a Master Degree within Dairy Science and Technology, but candidates with an education within bioscience, engineering or relevant professional experience are equally welcome. As an independent, self-starting person, you will work effectively without close supervision and have the ability to set purpose and vision. Business exposure to these projects is high and therefore you are able to deliver under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
