The Digital Design Department at the IT University of Copenhagen invites candidates for an Associate Professorship in the research Section for Play, Culture, and AI. The candidate should have a relevant background in human-computer interaction or related fields and be highly qualified in empirical and conceptual research applied to the design, analysis, and evaluation of digital games. To be considered, candidates should be able to demonstrate research and teaching qualifications in at least three of the following areas:
In the context of this position, we seek candidates who have strong interests and experiences in working at the intersection of play research and human-computer interaction. We seek a candidate who uses empirical methods and theory to develop a deeper understanding of how humans interact with games, as well as develop new practices that benefit play researchers and game makers. Applicants should provide a research plan explaining the research they wish to pursue in the position as Associate Professor. This plan should include a vision for how the candidate could contribute to interdisciplinary research bridging games and human-computer interaction.Applicants should be able to carry out research-based teaching and supervision in a variety of subjects related to digital games and human-computer interaction on both the bachelor and master level. Furthermore, we seek candidates with qualifications and experience in attracting external funding.
