Salary: £55,755 – £74,867 per annumContract type: full time/permanentLocation: Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford, OX2 6PYAbout the roleThe Department of Education, in association with Nuffield College, are seeking to appoint a full-time Associate Professor of Digital Education. The appointment will be initially for five years at which point, upon completion of a successful review, the post-holder will be eligible for reappointment to the retiring age.The Associate Professorship is available from September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be made in association with a non-tutorial fellowship at Nuffield College, further details of the fellowship can be found in the job description.Your main responsibilities will be to lead the highly regarded Digital and Social Change strand of the Masters in Education offered by the Department of Education. You will develop and carry out high quality research, relevant to learning or teacher learning in of digital technologies, drawing on this activity to inform all work related to the above programmes. You will be required to take on administrative and examining duties as requested by the department.The successful candidate should have:

  • a doctorate, relevant to the field of digital education.
  • extensive knowledge of current issues and future trends in the field of educational technologies, in terms of their relevance to practice, policy and theory.
  • a strong record of publications, commensurate with career stage.
  • a sustained trajectory of funded research relevant to critical studies of digital education.
  • substantial experience of teaching, supervision and examining at higher degree level.
  • a strong record of collaboration and team work.
  • expertise in a wide range of research methods, including those relevant to the study of the digital.
