About the companyFor one of our clients in Huizen, we are looking for a skilled Backend Developer / BI Specialist to join the Enterprise Information Management team. You will play a key role in building this future.The roleAs a Backend BI Specialist , you are responsible for designing, building, and optimizing ETL pipelines and reporting solutions. You turn raw data into clear insights by working with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and SQL. You collaborate with business analysts, product owners, solution architects, and data managers to define and deliver high-impact dashboards. You will work in a hybrid model , with at least two days per week in Huizen and one day per week in Hengelo.Each sprint, you take ownership of new components — from requirement gathering to technical design and delivery in Power BI. You are not just a developer, but also a strategic thinker , someone who understands business goals and translates them into scalable, insightful solutions.Your responsibilitiesDesign and build scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Azure Data FactoryDevelop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI , including DAX calculationsModel data warehouses and star schemas (including SSAS Tabular)Optimize SQL queries and ensure high performance and reliabilityIntegrate external data via REST APIs , JSON, and XMLCollaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and KPIsPlay an active role in the organization’s digital transformation journeySuggest improvements in BI processes and promote best practices within the teamWhat you bring✅ Technical Skills:Solid experience with ETL development (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Talend)Strong SQL skills; hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)Experience in Power BI development (DAX, Power BI Service, report publishing)Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing (Kimball/star schema)Familiar with scripting in Python or PowerShellExperience integrating APIs and working with data formats like JSON and XML✅ Soft Skills:Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business & Data Management, or related fieldProactive and flexible mindset — a true go-getterAnalytical thinker with strong problem-solving skillsComfortable in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong communicator, able to translate technical topics into business languageFluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)➕ Nice to have:Knowledge of Oracle or PTC WindchillFamiliarity with GDPR and data governance best practicesExperience with low-code platforms such as MendixWhat’s in it for you?A dynamic role in a team driving enterprise-wide digital transformationFull ownership over your work, with technical and strategic impactA hybrid working setup with flexibility and collaborationCompetitive salary with excellent secondary benefitsA culture that encourages continuous learning and innovationInterested?Are you ready to turn data into decisions and insights into action?
