The selected candidate will join the Analytical Software Team and will be responsible for the development of the backend of both new and existing software products for bioimage analysis exploiting AI and data reporting. A core focus of the position is the design and implementation of software tools and algorithms for processing and analyzing biological cell images obtained through fluorescence microscopy and extracting biologically relevant information, elaborating and representing data. The position requires close collaboration with both software end-users (whether internal or external to the company) and frontend developers (also internal or external).RequirementsCore competences:

• Experience of Python, NodeJS and Typescript

• Experience in the development of software applications and products

• Experience creating and using advanced machine learning tools, algorithms and architectures (e.g. Tensorflow) applied to images

• Experience and understanding of data analysis

• Experience in database languages, SQL is required

• Good command of spoken and written English (minimum B2 level required)

Soft skills:

• Effective collaboration within diverse, Agile-driven teams

• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Organization and precision, attention to detail

• Ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams to understand needs and communicate results

• Genuine curiosity and interest in Life Sciences and their real-world applications

Nice to have:

• Experience in biological cell image analysis and bioinformatics

• Knowledge and experience with open-source image analysis and deep-learning frameworks (e.g. DeepImageJ, Ilastik, Napari, ImJoy, CellProfiler, ZeroCostDL4Mic, KNIME, etc….)

• Experience with GPU accelerated processing

• Preferred M.S. or PhD in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or related discipline.

• Experience with version control systems, especially Git

• Knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence

• Experience working within a quality-managed software development environment
