Job Title: Base24 Lead EngineerLocation: Swindon (hybrid)About the Role:We’re looking for a skilled Base24 Lead Engineer to design, develop, and support ATM/POS software solutions for a leading UK building society. You will lead a team of engineers and play a key role in driving Base24 projects, system enhancements, and regulatory compliance initiatives.Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Base24 applications (Classic and EPS).
• Lead migration and enhancement projects, including Visa scheme updates.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of Base24 engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and secure solutions.
• Troubleshoot incidents and ensure system stability and performance.

Essential Skills:

• Strong experience in Base24 development (Classic and/or EPS).
• Proficient in TAL, COBOL, S-COBOL.
• Deep knowledge of ATM/POS systems, transaction switching, VISA/LINK, and EMV.
• Experience with HP NonStop systems and tools (VersaTest, XPNET, Enform, etc.).
• Familiarity with card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, LINK).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience with Base24 EPS migration.
• Knowledge of tools like Iliad, Paragon, Visa VTS.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
