Senior Presales Technical Account Manager – UK and EMEA

Full-Time Remote / Flexible (EMEA)

Job Summary:

This role is for an enthusiastic and proactive Sr. Presales Engineer who excels in creating and maintaining close partnerships with customers, to drive forward a shared goal of solving complex problems and creating value (through the deployment of data and analytical solutions), promoting innovation and generating new business revenue. Our team is expanding the Data Analytics practice in EMEA and are seeking a technical advisor with strong analytical skills, a curious mind and (ideally) previous experience working with predictive analytics. Training will be provided on the Altair products. The role will be based in EMEA with travel to support partner and some client meetings expected.

What You Will Do:

The role will cover various technical, commercial, and relationship duties. These will include the following areas of expertise and duties:

  • Be an advisor to your clients, providing guidance on how BFSI organizations can create business value and support their goals through the use of data and deployment of analytical solutions.
  • Advance the analytics product knowledge of Altair and Altair Partners within the Sales organization
  • Co-design GTM analytics solutions with prospects, customers, and Altair partners
  • Develop, maintain, and extend pre-sales collateral for the Altair BFSI vertical
  • Promote the value of the Altair Data Analytics platform across prospects and the Altair partner community
  • Be able to support Altair Sales and work throughout the sales cycle to qualify and execute on sales deals.
  • Act as the primary technical contact between the client and Altair, translating client business needs to value-generating solutions based on Altair products (software and cloud) and associated services.
  • Provide technical and pre-sales leadership to new business opportunities, engaging with technical and business audiences – defining and owning the technical engagement plan. Engagements will be with banking financial services and insurance (BFSI)
  • Be responsible for dealing with complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards, Altair solutions, and the customer’s technology landscape to help deliver win-win outcomes for both the customer and Altair.
  • Deliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and demonstrate Altair’s value through presentations, discussions, bids, and proof of concepts.
  • Use BFSI subject matter knowledge to create a compelling vision to influence all stakeholders in formal and informal meetings. Adapt the material to suit the audience and use influencing and negotiation skills to overcome internal and external objections.
  • Deliver tailored workshops on specific focus activities
  • Be capable and fluent in topics including UI Design, Data Modelling and Enterprise Architecture, and be able to leverage other Altair resources (including services) to support more complex discussions

  • Developed presentation skills at both the technical and business level with the ability to deliver a highly technical solution in a pressured environment.
  • Uses proven problem-solving skills to view problems as challenges and turn them into viable solutions.
  • High level of integrity and ethical approach, able to instill trust and a transparent way of doing business.
  • Ability to adapt to change and act as a change champion – leading by example.
  • Ability to quickly understand the business and its issues through established business acumen, taking ownership, and developing and executing a solution.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to develop a plan and deliver against objectives.
  • Bachelor equivalent mandatory, Masters equivalent preferable
  • In-Depth knowledge of predictive analytics science and modeling
  • Knowledge of Python, R, Language of SAS, SQL is necessary
  • Knowledge Data Step coding is ideal
  • Knowledge of mainframe would be considered an asset
  • Database/security / software engineering qualification may be advantageous
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required, facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and be comfortable delivering software demonstrations as needed.
  • Fluent in French and English is mandatory.
