ROLE- BIM Engineer  

LOCATION- Southampton  

TERM- Permanent  

SALARY- £30,000 – £40,000, dependent on experience   

My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a BIM Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.  

The BIM Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

– 2 years or more experience in a relevant Design role 
– Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar.
– Experience working with piping would be beneficial 
– Ideally be Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar
– Knowledge of mechanical systems and building codes
– Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
– Proficient using MS Office
– Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
– Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

 
The BIM Engineer role will involve:

– Collaborating with the design and engineering teams to develop 3D models for mechanical systems using BIM software
– Finalising and signing off existing designs 
– Coordinating and integrating BIM models with other disciplines to ensure clash-free design and construction
– Reviewing mechanical systems designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
– Providing technical support and expertise in BIM technology and workflow to project teams
– Assisting in the creation and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and libraries for mechanical systems
– Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
– Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
