FOSS IT, Finance & ComplianceBusiness Data SpecialistAt FOSS, we are on an ambitious digital transformation journey to become more data-driven and building greater self-service capabilities across our business. To support this, we are building our next-generation data platform on Microsoft Fabric, integrating data from core systems such as SAP and Salesforce. We are now looking for a talented Business Data Specialist to join our Business Data Platform team and help us turn data into actionable insights.Your impact and responsibilities
As a Business Data Specialist, you will work across the full data lifecycle – from extracting and transforming data to designing models and creating compelling Power BI reports. You will play a key role in shaping our new data warehouse and fostering an analytics culture across FOSS.You will be part of a dedicated team of five data professionals who collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the organization. Together, we ensure trust, transparency, and availability in the business data used at FOSS. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, models, and governed BI solutions
• Build and optimize high-quality Power BI reports and semantic models
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into data solutions
• Support and train users to strengthen FOSS’s analytics culture
• Contribute to ongoing data platform projects from source extraction to business presentation
• Act as a trusted business partner and advisor to stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the teamTo succeed in this role, you are a curious and collaborative data professional with a proactive mindset. You thrive in complex technical environments and excel at translating business needs into practical, high-quality data solutions. You are equally comfortable working with stakeholders and diving deep into technical problem-solving.We envision that you have:

• A relevant degree in data science, computer science, engineering, economics, or a related field or proven experience in a technical data role, preferably within analytics, BI, or data engineering
• A problem-solving attitude, with the ability to navigate complex technical and practical challenges
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear insights and recommendations
• Experience with Python, SQL, and preferably PySpark – or willingness to learn quickly
• Solid skills with Power BI and data modeling
• Familiarity with Microsoft tools such as Fabric, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, and Git in Azure DevOps repos
• Experience with SAP or Salesforce data is an advantage
• An agile mindset and experience working in Scrum teams
