Mission Details

Arkema has started a new advanced bio-based materials plant in Singapore using castor oil as raw material. The Oleris(R) ranges includes heptanoic acid, heptaldehyde, C-18 methyl ester (Esterol A), C11 acid and crude glycerin. Sales with higher added-value are essential for the results of this new investment.
Asia especially, Greater China and India are large markets with high growth rate. Faced with local competition from coal, castor oil, palm and coconut based oleochemicals, constant vigilance and follow up of a dynamic market situation in terms of profitability, customers & competitors.

Job Description

– Formulate and direct the implementation of marketing and sales strategies and activities aligning with global team
– Grow, identify and develop new business in various industries: cosmetics, flavour & fragrance, lubricants, adhesives and etc
– Promote Oleris(R) portfolio in existing and new applications in South East Asia.
– Promote marketing actions to support sales development in South East Asia including distributors selection.
– To understand and explore key market opportunities, local competitors, and provide relevant market information
– Manage, motivate and lead the Oleris Asia team
– Operational management of glycerin sales out of Singapore – including direct customers and agent (HBI)
– Management of Esterol© NBD plan in Asia
– Project Management in Singapore for bulk export
– Liaise with Product Support : commercial specifications, certifications (Halal, Kosher), customer claims management etc
– Visit key customers with sales & BD team to consolidate the business relationship & marketing intelligence

Required Profile
1) Technical background in chemical engineering or related subjects
2) -7 years’ experience in technical support/ business development/ project management for specialty chemicals
3) Excellent interpersonal skills for internal and external communication
4) Dynamic, innovative and pro-active
5) Management and leadership skills
