The RVC is seeking to recruit a Business Partnerships Manager (BPM) to lead RVC academics in their negotiations to engage with industry and third-party organisations.  You will manage a varied portfolio of collaborative research and consultancy projects, in which you will have overseen the application of appropriate costing, pricing and contractual arrangements, reflecting the RVC’s preferred terms for business engagement.  You will need to have a good understanding and experience of negotiating the ownership of and rights to use intellectual property (IP). The post-holder will ensure that all successful opportunities are financially viable, provide academic benefit and align with RVC research and innovation strategy, governance and legal structures.  

The post-holder will be part of a team in the Research and Innovation Office (RIO), involved in supporting delivery of basic science and translational research programmes. The team ensures the smooth running of RVC’s portfolio of sponsored research and knowledge exchange activities, building on the RVC’s reputation as a partner of choice for research in veterinary medicine and comparative biological science. This necessitates close working with academic staff at RVC, to build up trust and knowledge of their projects.
