Call for Expression of Interest for a joint application under the upcoming Call for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025University of Genoa, UNIGE, located in Genoa, ITALY, welcomes postdoctoral researchers of any nationality, with an excellent track record, to apply to the European Commission Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025. Our University has been beneficiary of several MSCA-PF in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.The Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of funding scheme of the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Research & Innovation programme, dedicated to excellent research promoting international mobility, as well as interdisciplinary and intersectoral exchanges.MSCA fellowship grant provides a competitive salary plus mobility and family allowances if applicable, as well as a contribution to cover research, training and networking costs. The research projects will have 2- or 3-years duration.Selected candidates will be provided with special support for proposal writing and development.The University of Genoa will organize in May the fifth edition of the Masterclass MSCA@UniGe. Selectedcandidate researchers will have the opportunity to attend a 2-days online intensive training and coaching course on how to write a successful proposal. This masterclass is a pathway of support to candidates and their supervisors in preparing project proposal, including prescreening activity of the draft proposals and the organisation of dedicated B2B meetings, by the European Research Office of UniGe, National Contact Point and other experts.The masterclass will take place on May and June 2025, with the first online training session scheduled on the 8th May 2025 afternoon.More information:MSCA domain: Social Sciences and Humanities (SOC)Research Project DescriptionCandidatures are welcome on the following topics:– Social vulnerability and disaster recovery; how/which processes of re-production of vulnerability take place in post-disaster (recovery/reconstruction), such as how disaster risk reduction processes can exacerbate social vulnerability. Aspects of environmental and social justice should be considered.– Climate change adaptation and climate justice/inclusiveness; how processes of inclusiveness/climate justice are promoted in climate change adaptation policies/initiatives and/or how cases of maladaptation contribute to increase disparities/injustice episodes.– More-than-human in climate change; how to promote a more-than-human perspective on climate change and/or how the anthropocentric perspective on climate change impacts nonhumans.– Climate change and land/sea grabbing; how climate change relates with/facilitate cases of land/sea grabbing with consequences on climate justice.Works that especially consider (urban) political ecology and/or more-than-human geography are welcome.Research GroupThe candidate fellow will be involved in collaborating with the geography group of the Disfor (Department of Education) – University of Genoa. In particular, the candidate fellow will collaborate with Sara Bonati, an Assistant Professor in human geography who works on social vulnerability in disasters and in last years started to investigate aspects of the more-than-human in climate change. She is especially involved in the collective “geo.naturae” that involve Italian geographers working on socionatural processes ( ) and she collaborate with the TetusLab, the laboratory of territorial, tourism and sustainability studies at the Disfor; the candidate fellow will have the opportunity to be involved in the initiatives organized by them.ApplicationAn expression of interest shall be sent to prof.
