Offer DescriptionThe University of Girona (UdG) is awarding grants to recruit pre-doctoral researchers to carry out their doctoral theses at the UdG.The applicants must be pre-enrolled or accepted in a doctoral programme of the UdG at the time of application for the grant, and their minimum average grade of the academic transcripts (detailed at the terms and conditions of the University of Girona Grant Programme for researchers in training IFUdG 2022-2024) must be equal of higher tan 6.5 on a scale 1 to 10. Their research group and the thesis supervisors must also meet some specific requirements.This call has 4 modalities of grants:Modality 1. 1 grant for individuals with a level of disability of 33% or higherModality 2. 0 grants for candidates whose thesis is supervised by research staff hired under the ICREA Senior, Ramón y Cajal, or Junior Leader Retaining programs, who have not previously received a predoctoral or postdoctoral grant from the UdG under this modality. The grants under this modality have been replaced by the resolution published on March 27, 2025, under the Program for Incentives for the Retention and Recruitment of Excellent Research TalentModality 3. 16 grants distributed proportionally between the different doctoral programmes (PD) according to the table in Annex 1 of the CallModality 4. 2 grants awarded to the top applicants, considered as having the best positions in the priority list, regardless of the doctoral programme they are pre-enrolled in, who have not been awarded any modality.MODALITY 6: 1 grant intended for candidates applying within the framework of the ACROSS project and the UPVD), in the context of cross-border cooperation policy. The individual agreements establish that in 2024, the UPVD funds a three-year predoctoral contract with a co-supervised thesis between UdG and UPVD, and will do so again three years later; and that in 2025, the UdG launches a call for a grant, repeating it also three years later.The grants include the costs of the contract and the social security contribution, and tuition costs (academic supervision of the doctoral thesis and compulsory training credits) of the recipients for 3 academic years (5 academic years for modality 1 grants).The grants include the costs of a 3 year contract, the social security contribution, and the indemnity of an amount equivalent to that provided for fixed-term contracts in Article 49 of the revised text of the Workers’ Statute, and tuition costs (academic supervision of the doctoral thesis and compulsory training credits) of the recipients for three academic years, or five academic years for modality 1 grants.Depending on their funding they are also 2 types: * General IFUdG grants fully funded by the call.

• IFUdG-AE (special action) grants, of which 50% of the cost will be funded by each call and must be co-funded at 50% by collaborating entities and/or companies or UdG research group funds (this type have benefits in the scoring criteria)
