Offer DescriptionMechanical analysis of cells poses several challenges: handling of geometrical changes and imposing mechanical equilibrium conditions. Additionally, optimal control problems, which requires smooth functions, may be hard to impose during cellular transitions.
This one year post-doctoral offer aims at combining mechanical and geometrical aspects of cell intercalation in three dimensions, jointly with the simulation of migration process and numerical solution of optimal control problems (OCP).Non-linear mechanical equilibrium during geometrical transitions will be simulated with an available code, which will be extended with optimal control equations. Special attention will be focused on the numerical preservation of analytical invariants of the OCP, such as symplecticity or control Hamiltonian.
