RINA is currently recruiting for a CHEMICAL LABORATORY ENGINEER to join its office in La Spezia within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.MissionRINA is looking for a Chemical Laboratory Engineer to join our Space & Defense team in La Spezia. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various projects in a dynamic and innovative work environment.Key AccountabilitiesAs a Chemical Laboratory Engineer at RINA Consulting S.p.A., your key accountabilities will include:

• Conducting in-depth bibliographic research to select the most promising ceramic compositions and synthesis methodologies
• Performing screening of commercial powders for application suitability
• Characterizing powders using various techniques such as DSC-TGA, XRD, SEM, FT-IR, and particle size analysis
• Implementing thermo-mechanical treatments for powder distribution
• Engaging in process engineering and scale-up
• Developing techniques for dopant insertion into ceramic matrix
• Analyzing and interpreting results

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of advanced solutions for laser applications, pushing the boundaries of ceramic materials and their practical applications.EducationMaster’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical EngineeringQualificationsTo qualify for the position of Chemical Laboratory Engineer, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field
• At least one year of experience in academic or private laboratories in the R&T sector
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good command of the English language
• Willingness to travel internationally

Preferential Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of Matlab
• Familiarity with analytical techniques such as DSC/TGA, XRD, SEM, FT-IR, particle size, and thermal conductivity
• Understanding of ceramic materials
