The post holder will be responsible for triangulating the quality of the service standards, patient experience and compassionate care, patient safety risk and reporting quality assurance through the Nursing portfolio.Intensive Residential Outreach Care (IROC) is an enhanced systems support service that offers relational, and trauma-informed approaches to support children and young people who present with the most complex psychological, emotional and behavioural distress in residential placement subject to a Deprivation of Liberty Order (DOLs). IROC champions multi-agency integrated care planning by facilitating collaboration and whole system co-ordination to improve outcomes for this cohort of children and young people who often fall outside of the remit of CAMHS services. Through the use of a systemic and holistic approach, we aim to understand the needs of the young person in the context of their experiences, relationships and environment.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide professional, clinical support to the Clinical Group in the delivery of the local and national guidance aligned to WMCPC strategies as follows.1. Support the clinical needs for the IROC team supporting young people in care with complex needs. This team sits alongside CAMHS, and is formed by a combination of specialist nursing, Occupational Therapies and Psychology.2. Work with Social care managers across the region to review and monitor the demand and capacity of the service.3. Act as a recovery model of care encourage colleagues to seek to maintain the highest standards of person-centred care, professionalism, and confidentiality.4. Use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work within the service they are helping to provide to our young people.5. Provide clinical leadership within the IROC Team (case management, group work, psychoeducation, evaluation etc.).6. Behave consistently with the values and beliefs of the wider Trust and promote these on a day-to-day basis within the team.7. Provide a high quality and community-based service to the children and young adults within multi-disciplinary team.About usBirminghamWomen’s andChildren’s NHS Foundation Trust (BWC) are the Lead Provider of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC) bringing together integrated provision of specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism services, for young people (YP) aged 13-18. Provider Collaboratives have been established across England to encourage closer regional partnership working. This means that for the first time, pathway and budget management is WMCPC’s responsibility, giving us the autonomy and opportunity to reinvest savings into community and step-down services that our region’s YP’s need the most. Here in the West Midlands – and across the country – those who need an inpatient admission experienced either a long wait for a bed or are admitted to hospitals far from home. By working collaboratively, using local data and listening and engaging with our service users, we have reduced the number of YP’s admitted to inpatient services, driven down length of stay, and brought care closer to home ultimately improving the outcome and experience of every YP under our care. WMCPC are aiming to change the way in which health and care systems are organised for YP by shifting the emphasis away from inpatient care as the primary option for professionals, towards a multi-agency partnership approach within communities. • Relevant Professional Qualification in Nursing and NMC registration (RMN, RLDN, RSCN)
• Willing to undertake relevant Specialist experience or qualification in trauma informed therapeutic approaches

• Non-medical prescriber qualification
• Relevant Specialist experience or qualification in therapeutic model/Leadership

Knowledge and ExperienceEssential

• Extensive experience working within mental health services with Children and Young People
• Experienced in the implementation of therapeutic interventions with children and young adults.
• Experience of Delivering teaching / training to staff on working with Children and Young People with psychological needs
• Experience of providing consultation to professionals working with children and young people.
• Extensive experience of working with children and young people who are neuro diverse.
