The role of ‘Communications and Events Coordinator – Summer Schools’ is integral to the External Engagement Team within the Department of Economics, with a primary focus on marketing, communications, and outreach. Under the supervision of the External Engagement Manager, the coordinator implements strategic marketing and communications initiatives, executes outreach plans, and handles day-to-day administrative functions to manage and grow the Department’s Summer Schools.

Within the Department’s broader Professional Services Team, the Communications and Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the Summer Schools portfolio. Maintaining positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including high-fee paying multinational students and esteemed faculty, is a key aspect of the role. The dynamic nature of the position lends itself to adaptability, effective deadline management, and proficiency in various digital communication tools to ensure seamless delivery.

This multifaceted position requires a discerning ability to promote programmes to diverse audiences and engage in strategic outreach, leveraging digital channels to elevate programme visibility. The coordinator’s responsibilities extend from conducting market research and viability assessments for new programmes to organising logistical arrangements enhancing the overall student experience across the Summer Schools portfolio. The role requires great flexibility in adapting to the requirements of each Programme and its teaching faculty, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently. This can entail some evening and weekend work, particularly during the delivery of a programme.
