Offer DescriptionTeaching activity: the candidate will be mainly involved
in teaching in the courses offered by the Department of Humanities,
Social Sciences and Education (BA degree course in “Lettere e Beni
culturali” and in the MA degree course in “Letteratura e Storia
dell’arte”) and, secondarily, in other departments of the University,
or in the postgraduate courses offered by the University of Molise.
Lectures and seminars will ordinarily fall within the remit of the
academic discipline “Latin Language and Literature”; however, if
requested by the Department, he/she might be asked to teach
modules on cognate subjects. He/she will participate in the running
of the above-mentioned degree courses by coordinating the activities
associated with the Latin language. Teaching commitments also
include tutoring, assisting students with their final exam, master’s
theses and doctoral dissertations.
Research activity: The candidate will carry out research in
line with the requirements of the academic discipline L-FIL-LET/04
LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, understood as the
historical-critical and philological study of Latin texts, with
particular attention to the system of literary genres (poetic,
theatrical, narrative), to the relationship with Greek literary
production, and to literature from the Archaic to the Imperial and
Late Antique periods. He/she will have established a reputation for
hermeneutic effectiveness, methodological rigour and excellent
linguistic and philological skills in the field of the historical study of
Latin literature, both nationally and internationally. The candidate
will undertake to submit high-quality works to journals and
publishers of relevant national and international standing, also with
a view to achieving excellent results in the VQR evaluations of the
Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education. He/she
will also have to collaborate in national and international research
groups, participate in projects aimed at obtaining competitive
funding, ensure an active and proactive role in the implementation
of Third Mission projects and departmental projects aimed at
