Overview
A post has become available for a Contracts & Costing Officer within the Joint Research Management Office attached to the existing Pre Award team. This presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to assist the Head of Contracts and Costing providing support to our academic community in achieving the strategic aims of Queen Mary University of London and play a lead role in the future development and communications in the University’s Research Management System relating to contracts and costing.
This role will be responsible for external research costings and contracts with specific focus particular specialties within the organisation. The post will also support the development of contract templates, demand management processes, standard Operating processes, providing Pre Award training sessions and Pre award web presence.
The successful candidate should have specialist knowledge and experience of drafting and initiating contracts both Lambert and Brunswick, Studentship agreements and large collaboration agreements. Expertise in UKRI & Charitable funding streams and have proven organisational skills. We will require someone with a high degree of competency in both numeracy and general administrative skills in order to build on the development of the service and to support operational changes.
The Joint Research Management Office is responsible for providing a complete Research Management service across the three University facilities, Medicine & Dentistry, Science & Engineering and Humanities & Social Sciences and Barts Health NHS Trust. The office provides Costing & Contracting support, award financial management, Clinical Governance, Research Integrity and University Ethics management for all funding disciplines. This role will work specifically with the three QMUL faculties working closely with Faculty Research Managers, School Research Managers and other Professional Service departments providing support, training and communications on all aspects of Research Pre Award Activity.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time and fixed term for 2 years. The salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £37,348 – £43,592 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
