Cover Supervisor/ Level 3 Teaching assistant / HLTA
GarstonProspero teaching are working with a SEN School based in Garston the school deals with students with additional needs and mental health issues
The pupils are aged 14 – 19 all with EHCP plans and additional needs.
The pupils have usually experienced some form of trauma, neglect or chaotic home life or all of these things.Your role is to build a connection with the young people and act and a mentor and role model for the students as well as leading classes and organising tasks throughout the day.You must have a strong cover supervisor, TA or Tutoring background with students from PRUs, SEMH and alternative provision schools.Due to the barriers the pupils have in the classroom, the role will entail forging strong relationships with pupils.The role will see you using lots of mentoring skills (similar to that used in sports, drama, counselling) to help the individual engage with the school.The position is open to all experienced and those who have a strong background in mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILSLocation: Garston L19

Minimum rate of pay: GBP110 per day
Hours Mon Fri (term time only)EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience in a similar setting / SEMH/ PRU/ Alternate Provision
LEVEL 3 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferableCover Supervisor experience
GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
