The Criminalist classification is an entry, training, and sub-journey level position. Criminalists in Method Development perform routine and less complex/novel validations for DNA casework and offender database use as well as for Biology screening. The Criminalist may be assigned to assist higher level Criminalists in conducting more complex specialized projects in the Method Development Unit.
