What you’ll do

• Design and Define: Collaborate on the vision and architecture of Shift’s data platform to meet evolving business and technical needs.
• Tool Selection and Implementation: Research, evaluate, and implement the best tools and frameworks to optimize our data infrastructure.
• Innovation and Experimentation: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring technological advancements, conducting research, and building proof-of-concepts (POCs) to test new solutions.
• Upskill and Mentor: Share your expertise by providing technical guidance, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

What you bring

• Proficiency in data modeling
• Experience with NoSQL data stores (graph, document, etc.)
• Experience with data transformation tools (e.g. dbt, sqlmesh, pyspark)
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python or SQL)
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Spark
• Familiarity with data warehousing
• Experience with ML serving is a plus
• You often come up with new ideas to solve complex problems.
• You want your work to have an impact: rather than a cog, you see yourself as the engine.
• You are used to work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists or engineers
• You can communicate fluently in English.
