- design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business goals and system architecture,
- work closely with analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather and refine data requirements,
- translate business needs into clear, consistent, and accessible data structures,
- establish and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and metadata practices,
- optimize models for scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability,
- ensure data quality and integrity using constraints, validation rules, and normalization techniques,
- collaborate with DBAs to deploy and manage models in production environments,
- create clear documentation of data models, flows, and relationships using tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, or PowerDesigner,
- support data integration and migration efforts by providing mapping and transformation logic,
- review and improve existing models to meet evolving business and technical needs,
- ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards during design and implementation,
- share data modeling best practices with development, BI, and analytics teams.
Wymagania
- proficiency in data modeling tools: ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, or IBM InfoSphere Data Architect,
- strong SQL skills for querying, validating, and analyzing data structures,
- solid understanding of database systems – both relational (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra),
- experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models,
- knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling (e.g., star and snowflake schemas),
- familiarity with metadata management and data cataloging solutions,
- understanding of data governance, data lineage, and data quality principles,
- experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially Azure Synapse,
- ability to design normalized and denormalized models based on specific use cases,
- knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and reference data modeling,
- experience aligning data models with reporting and BI tool requirements.
