The Deputy Director of Commercial and Business Development will be responsible for leading the strategic development of the Facilities Directorate (FD) commercial services, driving value and income for the FD alongside the delivering of outstanding experiences for our University community.
Through your leadership, energy and experience, the role will seek new innovative and collaborative commercial opportunities with a range of services, businesses and organisations both internal and external to the University, leading transformational change initiatives with a people focussed and user centric lens.
The role will lead a diverse range of commercial focussed services in alignment with our Facilities Directorate people and culture plan that sets out our people focussed approach.
Services include:
You will have significant senior level experience gained in a commercial environment (e.g., hospitality, retail, event management) and experience of leading and inspiring services, teams and individuals to deliver strategic plans and excellent services.
A key element of this role is to be influential both internally and externally, building trust and credibility, shaping and delivering a significant agenda across the Facilities Directorate, often in partnership with faculties and Services across the University.
You will also have significant experience of setting, managing and achieving key commercial, customer and financial targets.
You will need the ability to connect and develop relationships with a range of stakeholders and multiple diverse groups and lead a diverse workforce of in circa 150 people in alignment with our FD People and Culture plan.
You will report to the Director of Campus Innovation: Campus Services, Experience & Commercial, however, you will work alongside other senior leaders in the Facilities Directorate to collaborate and share best practice.
