What you`ll do

As a Development Manager, you will lead a team of AI Developers, Data Scientists, and CI/CD developers focused on building GenAI-powered, agentic CI/CD tools and services. Your primary stakeholder will be the SAP HANA Database Development organization, which relies on your team’s innovations to accelerate and safeguard feature delivery. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities. You will own the roadmap, execution, and adoption of GenAI-driven CI/CD enhancements that empower database engineers to ship faster, with greater confidence and reliability.

You will directly impact how our database teams release features by delivering reliable, secure, and efficient GenAI-enabled CI/CD tooling — while also growing and empowering the engineers who build those tools.

You will join a larger organization headquartered in Germany, where your direct manager is also based.

Your role will involve:

-Act as the primary partner to the Database Development organization: gather requirements, prioritize CI/CD feature requests, drive adoption and measure impact.
-Lead people and HR activities: regular one-on-ones, career coaching, performance reviews, promotions, hiring and onboarding, workload planning and conflict resolution.
-Define and manage the team roadmap for GenAI CI/CD services: prioritize work, set milestones, and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
-Be a hands-on contributor: design solutions, review code, prototype integrations, and help implement the tools and automation when needed.
-Track service reliability and adoption: define SLAs, telemetry for hallucination/cost/latency, user feedback loops, and iterate on tooling based on stakeholder needs.
-Build team skills and culture: create training plans, mentorship, hiring plans, and foster inclusive, high-performance behaviors.
 

What you bring

-5+ years building production application, developer tooling or platform services; experience delivering GenAI/LLM-powered features preferred.
-2+ years of people management or formal technical leadership.
-Practical experience with agentic systems preferred.
-Solid engineering background: Python, basic infrastructure (containers, CI tools like GitHub Actions/Jenkins/ArgoCD).
-Strong communicator and collaborator: able to present tradeoffs, drive cross-functional alignment and evangelize tool adoption.
-Fluency in English.
